I grew up listening to records and 8 tracks. When digital listening hit the scene it changed forever the very sound of music that I had come to know and love. I will always be a record fan I think, but.. Modern records leave a lot to be wanted. Due to the fact that a lot of reissues and newer records are produced from digital media sounds - The sound just isn't the same, its not as warm or as deep as the records from my youth. Now, on that same note there are some bands who put out records that will never sound good simply due to the length of time that's on a record. A record gets its sound from depths of the record and how well the groves are made. The longer your record the less space and then the less depth that remains.
I would love to know what you think about records -vs- digital media? Let me know if you are in a band and you use digital media to start out because you couldn't afford the prices of getting records produced?
Lets hear from you!
